About Our 2026 Virtual Fall Conference
As a psychologist in Pennsylvania, you manage the demands of clinical practice while navigating evolving government regulations and professional constraints to provide quality care. Conferences from the Pennsylvania Psychological Association (PPA) provide a reliable and accessible way to advance your knowledge and earn your continuing education (CE) credits. Learn more about the topics covered in the 2026 Virtual Fall Conference and how they meet CE requirements.
2026 Fall Conference Workshops
The conference, held on Friday, October 16, features three workshops, each focusing on a unique area essential to psychological practice. These workshops also provide CE credits and meet particular Pennsylvania requirements.
AI Technologies in Ethical Practice
This session is held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. It focuses on modern applications for artificial intelligence (AI) in psychological practice, as well as the ethical considerations involved in its use. The presentation is led by John Gavazzi, PsyD, who holds board certification from the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
Attendees earn three CE credits and meet the Pennsylvania Ethics requirement for licensed psychologists.
Recognizing and Reporting Suspected Child Abuse in Pennsylvania
During this second session, Rachael Baturin, MPH, JD, and Molly Cowan, PsyD, will discuss topics including the responsibilities of mandated reporters and techniques for recognizing child abuse. It will take place from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.
By attending this session, you will earn two CE credits and meet the child abuse recognition and reporting training requirement for licensed healthcare professionals.
Advances in Suicide Prevention Interventions
Matthew Wintersteen, PhD, presents this session from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. During this session, he focuses on evidence-based interventions for suicide prevention. Attendees will learn key skills needed for working with individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Attendees will also earn three CE credits and satisfy the Act 74 (suicide) requirement for licensed psychologists.
Do All PPA Conference Sessions Fulfill CE Requirements?
PPA is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. All sessions at our 2026 conference are eligible for CE credits.
Many of our other events help meet the requirements for acceptable continuing education, including mandatory topics for psychologists, such as ethics. Review our events schedule for upcoming conferences, seminars, and webinars.
Do These Sessions Meet Act 31 Requirements?
Child abuse recognition and reporting training is required by Pennsylvania Act 31 of 2014 for all licensed healthcare professionals during each licensure period, which is every two years for psychologists. The “Recognizing and Reporting Suspected Child Abuse in Pennsylvania” session meets this requirement.
