Ethics and Risk Management When Your Client is Involved in Family Law Issues

Program Description: This workshop will help you identify the ethical and practical standards when dealing with clients who are involved in family law issues, and educate you about best practices in dealing with attorneys and the courts.

Program Learning Objectives: At the end of this program, participants will be able to:

1. Identify the sources of ethical practice standards when dealing with clients who are involved in family law issues.
2. Identify actions that they should and should not take when dealing with attorneys and the courts.
3. Analyze how to maintain their duty to the client while responding ethically to attorneys and the court.
4. Understand the role of a Forensic Expert, a Treating Expert, and a Fact Witness.

Credits Offered: 3 Continuing Education Credits for psychologists and educators. (75% score or higher required)

The Pennsylvania Psychological Association is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists.  PPA maintains responsibility for this program and its content.  The Pennsylvania Psychological Association is an approved provider for Act 48 Continuing Professional Education Requirements as mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
