Teaching Suicide Prevention A format for Educators, Supervisors, and Self-Directed Learners

Program Description: Teaching skills to assess, manage, and reduce suicide risk has become a standard part of training as a psychologist. This workshop will identify the core competencies that educators, supervisors, or self-directed learners need to have to work effectively with suicidal patients and will suggest strategies to facilitate learning. Handouts include sample test questions and an annotated glossary of terms related to suicide.

Program Learning Objectives: At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

1. Identify cognitive, attitudinal, and emotional objectives for learning about suicide.
2. List core competencies when evaluating and treating suicidal patients.
3. Describe teaching strategies on how to assess or evaluate suicidal patients.

Credits Offered: 1 Continuing Education Credit for psychologists and educators. (75% score or higher required)
