Legal and Ethical Issues with High Conflict Families

Continuing Education | Home Study

Program Description: This home study continuing education program contains 13 articles from The Pennsylvania Psychologist, concerning the basics of treating high conflict families. These articles review the minors right to treatment laws in Pennsylvania, how to treat high conflict families, the child abuse reporting laws in Pennsylvania, the child custody process and alternatives to child custody disputes.

Program Learning Objectives: At the end of this program, participants will be able to:

1. Describe a minor's right to treatment
2. Describe how to treat high conflict families
3. Describe the child custody process
4. Identify alternatives to child custody disputes

Credits Offered: 3 Continuing Education Credits for psychologists and educators. (75% score or higher required)

The Pennsylvania Psychological Association is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists.  PPA maintains responsibility for this program and its content.  The Pennsylvania Psychological Association is an approved provider for Act 48 Continuing Professional Education Requirements as mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
