Competence for Psychologists in the APA Ethics Code

Competence is both a legal requirement and an ethical ideal that fulfills the obligation of beneficence (working to improve the well-being of others). This home study reviews the standards in the APA Ethics Code as they apply to competence and gives examples. It will also cover the exceptions to competence and strategies psychologists can use to ensure their continued competence.
This program qualifies for 1 CE credit towards the ethics requirement as mandated by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology.
