understand their life experiences within a broader context and to providing the emotional support
needed to foster resilience and create more meaningful lives.
Dr. Schneider was born and raised in Mexico City, where she earned her bachelor’s degree with
honors and a master’s degree in clinical psychology, along with a specialization in addictions.
She practiced clinically in Mexico for many years before relocating to the Philadelphia area.
After moving to the United States, Dr. Schneider continued her education and earned a doctorate
in clinical psychology from Chestnut Hill College. She also completed certifications in Mind–
Body Medicine and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.
For more than two decades, Dr. Schneider has specialized in the treatment of addictions, with a
particular focus on the impact of addiction on family members across different stages of life. Her
current work centers on Adult Children of Chaotic Families, exploring the long-term effects of
parental addiction, mental health challenges, chronic illness, and neglect on adult functioning
and relationships.
