Mental Health Access in Pennsylvania: Examining Capacity for a Global Health Crisis Response
One (1) Home Study Continuing Education Credits (70% score or higher required)
Is Pennsylvania prepared to address the psychological and psychiatric needs in the Commonwealth during and after COVID-19? This webinar will present findings from a PPA-led examination of mental health access in Pennsylvania. Even before this global health crisis, Pennsylvania struggled to meet the needs of its most vulnerable members, with approximately 1 in 5 Pennsylvanians living with a mental illness, yet only 4 in 10 of those people actually receiving appropriate care. This research study identifies and maps the number of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and psychologists across counties in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The impact of the coronavirus crisis will be reviewed, and the policy and practice implications will be discussed.
CREDITS OFFERED: 1 Continuing Education Credit for psychologists and educators.
