Why I Love PPAGS: My experience with PPAGS so far has fbeen nothing but positive! Being a relatively new member, I appreciated that I was welcomed with open arms and given the opportunity to take on the Communications Focus. I love PPA's passion for opening doors for grad students and ECPs across the state and I'm thrilled that I'm able to be a part of that!

Joined PPAGS:  I joined PPAGS in 2013 during my first year of graduate school to become more involved in psychology and leadership.

Why I Love PPAGS: PPA is so welcoming of PPAGS and student members. One of the biggest reasons I love PPAGS is the networking opportunities. I have met so many wonderful students and psychologists over the few short years I have been a member. There are also many opportunities for leadership and professional development. PPAGS is the future of psychology in Pennsylvania and I am honored to be a part of an organization that does so much for its students and members.

Fun Fact: My favorite TV show is The Office!

Joined PPAGS:  This is my first year serving on the PPAGS Board, but I am honored and excited to learn and grow with PPAGS!

Why I Love PPAGS:  The PPA has been very encouraging and welcoming to student members and my experience with PPAGS has been the same! The opportunities for students to grow personally and professionally through leadership and professional experiences is amazing and is molding the future psychologists in Pennsylvania; including myself! I feel blessed to be a part of such an impactful organization brimming with amazing individuals.

Fun Fact: One of my biggest dreams is to go cage diving with sharks!

Why I Love PPAGS and PPA: PPAGS and PPA has given me an opportunity to connect with people. As an immigrant belonging to this great community has brought meaning to my career and personal life. I cannot emphasize more how important human connections are especially, within the journey or developing a professional identity.

Victoria Kelly, M.A. - Programming Focus

School Program & Year: I am a 3rd year Psy.D. student at Marywood University in Scranton, PA.

I joined PPAGS in 2016. Through my membership, I have learned the value in collaboration to aid in the progression of the mental health field. The opportunities for networking and advocacy that PPA and PPAGS offer is unlike any other. Through my involvement, I have grown a purpose and a voice for both students, professionals, and the mental health field as a whole. It is such a wonderful and rewarding experience to be a part of an organization that has such a grand impact on the progression of mental health.

A Fun Fact about Me: I enjoy learning and studying outer space, stars, and constellations. From a young age, I would sit outside with my father on clear nights and together we would identify stars, planets, and constellations in the night sky.

Joined PPAGS: I joined PPAGS in 2015 and am grateful for the opportunity to get involved this year as your Advocacy Coordinator!

Why I Love PPAGS: I love PPAGS because it gives students a platform to be represented and to be heard in the larger community. PPAGS is run by students, for students, and takes the issues of students to those in our profession who may not otherwise be aware of what is important to us. We are the next generation of psychology and that’s why I love that PPAGS is here to support us in our growth.
