Bullying at School: What Can You Do About It
Participants will be exposed to information regarding different types of bullying, bullies, and victims, as well as the consequences of bullying. A review of theoretical explanations for why bullying occurs will be presented. Then, attention will be paid to the remedies for bullying for children.
Laura M. Crothers, DEd, NCSP, is a Professor of School Psychology, the Rev. Martin A. Hehir, C.S.Sp. Endowed Chair in Scholarly Excellence, and the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, School of Education, at Duquesne University. She studies childhood bullying and indirect aggression in adolescents, and has published over 50 articles, presented over 30 papers or posters, and written numerous books on this topic. She is considered an expert on bullying by the National Association of School Psychologists.
