It’s not complicated, but there are a few things you need to know. This 2-part webinar, with instructions and demonstrations, will show you how to get started.   • How to connect with news media and their audiences
  • Demonstration videos: suicide prevention, school violence
  • How to produce an effective video
  • Q&A

October 10 Description:

  • Practical considerations in media interviews
  • Ethical considerations in media interviews
  • How to avoid being caught off guard by reporters
  • How to prepare for a media interview
  • Demonstration: mock media interview
  • Q&A

Objectives:

1. Explain why it is important to disseminate psychological information through the news media.
2. Describe how to create a simple, informative public education video.
3. List different interview formats and identify key factors for each.
