PPA Membership
Welcome to the Pennsylvania Psychological Association! 

At PPA, our vision is to promote the science and practice of psychology by supporting psychologists to meet the evolving needs of the public. PPA does this by making its mission to:
  • Effectively communicate to the public, policy makers, and membership the value of evidence-based and ethical practice.
  • Support the lifelong learning of competent and ethical psychologists.
  • Promote and connect our membership to foster a community of professional psychologists.
Why Should I Join?

There are so many reasons to join PPA!  We have left it up to our current members to tell you why they belong!  Please take a moment to watch this 3-minute video showcasing current PPA members on why investing in PPA is important to their professional growth and development:



PPA Membership Categories:

There are three categories of PPA membership described below.  Please take a moment to review this information, as you will need to know which membership category you will be in before you join PPA!  

PPA Member:
Licensure as a psychologist in Pennsylvania, a doctoral degree in psychology, or a master's degree primarily in the scientific and professional discipline of psychology plus the equivalent of two full years of experience primarily in the scientific and professional discipline of psychology following the granting of the degree.

Student Member: 
Full-time enrollment in a graduate program that is primarily psychological in content.

Affiliate:
Persons who can demonstrate a legitimate professional, educational or scientific interest in the field of psychology and who are not eligible for a higher level of membership. Examples of such persons may include, but are not limited to, students of psychology and high school teachers of psychology. Affiliates shall have neither voting rights, hold themselves out as members of the Association, nor be eligible for elective office.
