PPAGS Elect New Officers for 2015 -2016
Chair-Elect: Amanda Sellers. MS
My name is Amanda Sellers and I’m a doctoral candidate in the clinical psychology program at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. Having served as Communications Chair of PPAGS for the past 2 years, I have developed a deep care for our organization and commitment to its mission. I am eager to continue to serve PPAGS as Chair Elect. During my tenure as Communications Chair, it was my responsibility to organize the agenda prior to each PPAGS Board of Directors meeting, as well as disseminate meeting minutes. In the absence of the Chair, I also ran the board meetings. With strong organizational skills and professional presentation skills, I organized and emceed the annual PPAGS Internship Fair at Chestnut Hill College. It was a huge success, having the greatest number of sites and students ever in attendance. I am eager to harness both my strong leadership skills and commitment to PPAGS as Chair Elect.
Communications Focus - Keri M. Condoluci
Prior to starting my Doctor of Psychology program I worked in the field of public relations and marketing as a communications coordinator. The skills I acquired in my previous career, in both the written and spoken word, have leant themselves to effectively and appropriately communicating with classmates, professors, and clients.
Since starting my graduate work I have been a graduate assistant in the Office of Institutional Advancement, and most recently, the Office of Graduate Admissions. Last semester I was elected as a Year II representative for the Student Advisory Council where I am a liaison between my cohort and the school administration. I believe in the importance of building relationships in the field of psychology as well as through local professional organizations.
State Advocacy Coordinator - Jessica Dougan
My name is Jessica Dougan, I am a 2nd year Psy.D. student at Marywood University in Scranton, PA. I am currently the State Advocacy Coordinator and would like to remain in this position to continue the efforts I have put forth. Since beginning this position last year, I have recruited more student representatives to increase advocacy awareness among graduate students, created formal duties for student representatives, and continually implement feedback received from graduate students and professionals to increase awareness of PPA advocacy efforts. I believe that I am a great candidate for this position because I been actively involved in PPA and PPAGS over the past year and am committed to improving the organization for all members, especially graduate students. I believe that this position is important as the current advocacy efforts by psychologists and students affect the future practice of psychology.
