The purpose of the
Pennsylvania Psychological Association is to advance psychology
as a science and a profession and as a means of promoting human
welfare. PPA is the third largest state psychological association
affiliated with the American Psychological Association.
How Do I Join?
- Download and complete the Membership
Application in pdf format and return to PPA with first year's
payment. (If
you need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader you can download
it here. ) Note: Each applicable section must be
complete in order to process your application. Or e-mail
PPA and ask for a membership application to be sent to you
today!
- If you are applying for Student or Affiliate
status, your application must be signed by your faculty advisor
or department chair.
- Submit your first year dues with your application
for quickest processing.You begin immediately to receive PPA
publications and mailings. All member benefits such as mailings
begin upon payment of first year dues.
- Return the completed application and payment
to PPA, 416 Forster Street, Harrisburg, PA 17102-1748.

Membership Categories:
Fellow: A doctoral degree from a program
primarily psychological in content, conferred by a graduate school
of recognized standing, and four years of experience in the scientific
and professional discipline of psychology following granting of
the degree.
Member: Licensure as a psychologist
in Pennsylvania, a doctoral degree in psychology, or a master's
degree primarily in the scientific and professional discipline
of psychology plus the equivalent of two full years of experience
primarily in the scientific and professional discipline of psychology
following the granting of the degree.
Student: Full-time enrollment in a
graduate program that is primarily psychological in content.
Affiliate: Persons who can demonstrate
a legitimate professional, educational or scientific interest
in the field of psychology and who are not eligible for a higher
level of membership. Examples of such persons may include, but
are not limited to, students of psychology and high school teachers
of psychology. Affiliates shall have neither voting rights, hold
themselves out as members of the Association, nor be eligible
for elective office.
Dues Information
Your membership year for dues purposes is
based on the quarter of the year in which you join. The quarters
are: July 1 - September 30, October 1 - December 31, January 1
- March 31, April 1 - June 30. You will be invoiced annually in
that same quarter. Dues for first year members are $99.00. Student
dues are $25.00.
