CONTINUING EDUCATION
Support PPA’s high-quality continuing education programs!

 In addition to our four-day Annual Convention in June, PPA sponsors a Continuing Education and Ethics Conference in the spring and fall, and home study programs.  To meet the changing continuing education needs of psychologists in our state, we conduct a Continuing Education Needs Assessment every other year.

Over 4,000 psychologists, psychology students, and other mental health professionals annually participate in our continuing education programs.

Licensed psychologists in Pennsylvania must complete a minimum of 30 contact hours of continuing education (3 of which must be in ethics education) every two years.   Pennsylvania educators holding Pennsylvania public school certification must complete 180 hours of Act 48 continuing professional education every 5 years.

The Pennsylvania Psychological Association is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.  PPA is an approved provider for Act 48 Continuing Professional Education Requirements as mandated by the PA Department of Education.

Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors in Pennsylvania can receive continuing education from continuing education providers approved by the APA.  Since PPA is approved by APA to sponsor continuing education, licensed social workers, licensed clinical social workers, licensed marriage and family therapists, and licensed professional counselors will be able to fulfill their continuing education requirement by attending PPA continuing education programs.
