Confidentiality, Record Keeping, Subpoenas,
Mandated Reporting and Life Endangering Patients

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of this home study program, the participants will be able to describe essential ethical issues regarding:

1. Confidentiality and record keeping;
2. Handling subpoenas; and
3. Treating life-endangering patients.


PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This online CE program contains 13 articles dealing with confidentiality, record keeping, subpoenas, mandated report and life endangering patients. An emphasis is placed on the ethical foundations of professional standards and ways that psychologists can interpret laws to maximize patient and public welfare.

CREDITS OFFERED: 3 CE Credits for psychologists and educators. This home study program qualifies for three contact hours for the ethics requirement as mandated by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology.

PPA is approved by APA to offer continuing education for psychologists. PPA maintains responsibility for this program. PPA is an approved provider for Act 48 Continuing Professional Education Requirements as mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
