It's time to register for Advocacy Day 2008 which
will be held on April 7. Underwritten by PennPsyPAC, Advocacy
Day provides an opportunity for psychologists across the state
to gather and learn from PPA staff and fellow psychologists how
to present to state legislators the important issues that affect
the practice of psychology. If you are not satisfied with the
laws governing managed care and other issues that affect your
practice, this is your chance to do something about it.
The half-day event will take place at the Harrisburg Hilton
and will consist of a legislative training session from 10:00
a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with registration starting at 9:30 a.m., and
followed by visits with state legislators. Participants are asked
to make appointments with their legislators to be held after the
training session.
Here is a brief description of the training session:
The training session will be a combination of didactic presentations
and role plays on the part of registrants. PPA staff will brief
you on current legislative issues of importance to psychologists,
such as shortcomings in current insurance laws, and relay tips
on the legislative process.
Continuing Education Credits: 1.0 CE credits for Psychologists,
Counselors and Educators will be offered.
Please complete the attached registration form by March 27, 2008,
and send or fax it to the PPA office. If you have any questions
about this event, please contact Rachael Baturin at 717-232-3817
or Rachael@papsy.org.
We look forward to seeing you on April 7th!
