Patient Focused Risk Management: An Ethical Approach Part II

Date: September 15, 2017

Time: 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm

Location: PPA Office

Workshop Summary:

When dealing with high-risk patients, it is important to psychologists to have risk management techniques in place.  This workshop will review basic risk management strategies.  In addition, we will discuss risk management strategies for dealing with supervisees, patients involved in divorce proceedings and patients that present a risk to harm themselves or others.  There will be opportunities for participant interaction.

Program Learning Objectives:

 

At the end of the program the participants will be able to:

  1. Describe basic risk management strategies; and
  2. Describe how to implement risk management strategies for high risk situations and patients.

Schedule (Times are Approximate)

12:00               Introduction and Overview

12:15-1:00       Review of Risk Management Strategies

   Implementation of these Strategies to Supervisees, Patients involved in Divorce Proceedings and Other High Risk Patients

1:00-1:30         Small group discussion of high risk situations
