PPA Commitments
As a professional organization of psychologists,
we are committed to...
- Advocacy in the service of human welfare
- Enhancing the profession through the promotion
of high standards of professional ethics, conduct, education
and achievement
- Increasing and disseminating psychological
knowledge to psychologists and the public, and
- Promoting the linkage between science and
practice through the facilitation of strong professional relationships
among practicing psychologists and researchers.
Our Vision for PPA
We will continue to improve our effectiveness
as an organization that advances psychology as a means of promoting
human welfare. We will work to ensure that psychology emerges
as the health care profession for the 21st century, enhancing
human experience and performance across a broad spectrum, including
health care, the workplace, families, and the social institutions
that serve and otherwise enrich the lives of Pennsylvanians.
We will accomplish our goals by ensuring high
levels of leadership and staff effectiveness. We envision a vibrant
organization that will increase its membership and enhance its
diversity. Through strong public education and legislative initiatives
we will improve the public’s access to psychological services
and to knowledge of varied forms. We intend for psychology to
become recognized as a powerful resource for addressing individual
and social needs.
